Songscapes: Join the Corvallis Repertory Singers for our 26th year of bringing moving choral performances to the Mid-Willamette Valley. This season weaves together the songs of time, including a choral masterwork by the English composer Sir Michael Tippett, a choral gem by a long-overlooked Viennese master and the soulful sounds by one of America’s truly great artists. These concerts are presented to you by some of the most accomplished artists in the region.

A Child of Our Time by Michael Tippett
The Corvallis Repertory Singers open their season with Michael Tippett’s dramatic and emotional mid-century secular masterpiece, set for chorus, symphony orchestra and soloists. Tippett draws on the history of Handel and Bach, as well as the British choral tradition, but innovatively interweaves the African American spiritual to express his desire for peaceful coexistence in a world that has so often fallen short.

Dixit Dominus by Marianna von Martines
Join the Corvallis Repertory Singers in ringing in the holiday season with Marianna von Martines’s setting of Dixit Dominus. This bright and cheerful setting has long been overlooked, as has this Viennese female composer from the second half of the 18th century, whose optimistic style was known and admired throughout Europe. The program will also include holiday songs and carols.

Join us in experiencing sacred music through the brilliant mind of Duke Ellington. His innovative Sacred Concerts for soloists, choir and jazz band bring the audience an unforgettable afternoon of soulful sounds featuring the OSU Jazz Band under the leadership of OSU faculty member Ryan Biesack.
The Venue
PRAx is located at 470 SW 15th Street on the campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis, with free and convenient parking in adjacent lots on weekends and after 5 p.m. on weekday performance nights. Daytime parking can also be found in the OSU Parking Structure or spaces to the east of the building served by pay stations.
