“Annelies” is an adaptation of the “Diary of Anne Frank” into a large-scale choral work. It brings to life the diary written by Annelies Marie Frank between 1942 and 1944 when she and her family hid in the back of an Amsterdam warehouse. Composed in 2015 for soprano, choir, and chamber instruments, it has been described as “woundingly beautiful.” Experience this haunting and soulful work in the intimacy and beauty of the Detrick Concert Hall.

Messiah, Part I

Ring in the holiday season with Handel’s seminal masterwork, “Messiah,” as we once again bring to life this treasured Baroque work for orchestra, choir, and soloists. The concert will include all of Part I, the Christmas portion, as well as several other beloved choruses. The second half will include carols, both old and new.  Join the Corvallis Repertory Singers for this Corvallis holiday tradition.

Alzheimer’s Stories

& Gospel Mass

Robert Cohen’s 2009 work, “Alzheimer’s Stories,” shares the words, recollections, and experience of Alzheimer’s disease. Based on texts by award-winning librettist, Herschel Garfein, the 3-movement work offers hope and a voice for those lost to the disease, as well as for those who suffer beside them. For the second half, the amazing Robert Ray’s “Gospel Mass,” a celebration of joy, blending the liturgical texts of the Mass with the rhythm and style of gospel music.
Soloists: Megan Sand, mezzo-soprano; Simon Staples, baritone.

The Venue

PRAx is located at 470 SW 15th Street on the campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis, with free and convenient parking in adjacent lots on weekends and after 5 p.m. on weekday performance nights.
